The fate of an old building, which is over 100 years old, is to be decided by the people and the government. A collective letter for the building’s restoration was sent to the mayor of the region by an initiative group. The appeal was signed by thousands indifferent citizens, which are concerned by the former almost dilapidated monument. The question raise: demolish the building or restore it? We hope that we jointly with people will come to a united opinion, and make the right decision on the fate of the historical building.
This building was a hotel before the revolution; afterwards it was the “House of Labor”, which combined a children’s hospital and a hostel for theater artists. The building was found in an emergency condition, and it is two years passed since it has been removed from the list of monuments.

— It was this hotel where the great Kazakh wrestler, athlete Kazhimukan Munaitpasov lived for some time, here lived one of the captains of the “Aurora” cruiser. It will be very good if we, together with the authorities will find a common way out of this situation. We will together decide the fate of this historical monument.
