Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with his Swiss counterpart Didier Burkhalter, the press service of the Kazakh leader said in a statement on Friday.
During the negotiations Nazarbayev noted the high level of organization of the World Economic Forum, according to the statement.
The leaders of the two countries discussed key aspects of the Kazakh-Swiss relations and prospects for their further development. They also exchanged views on the pressing issues of the international agenda.
Nazarbayev and Burkhalter turned attention to the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation, both bilaterally and in the framework of international organizations.
President Nazarbayev stressed that Switzerland is one of the major trading partners of Kazakhstan in Europe. The large Swiss companies such as Algroup, Rieter and Glencore operate in the country.
The two presidents stressed the need for further steady activity of the Kazakh-Swiss Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation. Following the meeting, the two leaders expressed confidence in the dynamic growth of bilateral cooperation in the near future.
